Job Summary

The Site Engineer is responsible for coordinating construction site activities to ensure projects are executed safely, efficiently, within scope, and in accordance with approved drawings, specifications, quality standards, and project timelines. The role requires strong technical expertise, leadership capability, and hands-on experience in managing site operations, contractors, materials, and project execution from inception to completion.

Job Details

  • Supervise and coordinate daily site operations to ensure compliance with project specifications, approved drawings, and quality standards
  • Lead and monitor site teams, subcontractors, and artisans to ensure efficient execution of work
  • Review engineering drawings, BOQs, specifications, and method statements for proper implementation on-site
  • Identify technical issues, design conflicts, or execution challenges and recommend practical solutions
  • Ensure proper interpretation and implementation of structural, architectural, and MEP drawings
  • Monitor project progress against timelines and escalate delays, risks, or resource gaps proactively
  • Ensure adherence to quality assurance and quality control (QA/QC) procedures throughout project execution
  • Coordinate inspections, testing, and approvals for completed work stages
  • Oversee material planning, usage, and reconciliation to minimize wastage and optimize cost efficiency
  • Ensure compliance with occupational health, safety, and environmental standards on-site
  • Conduct regular site inspections and enforce corrective actions where necessary
  • Prepare and submit site reports, progress updates, technical documentation, and incident reports
  • Liaise with consultants, contractors, vendors, and internal stakeholders to ensure smooth project delivery
  • Support project planning, budgeting, scheduling, and resource allocation activities

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree (B.Sc./B.Eng.) or Higher National Diploma (HND) in Civil Engineering, Building Technology, Structural Engineering, Construction Management, or related discipline
  • Minimum of 1 years relevant experience in construction/project site management 
  • Strong knowledge of construction methodologies, engineering principles, and site execution processes
  • Ability to read, interpret, and coordinate structural, architectural, and MEP drawings
  • Sound understanding of project planning, scheduling, and reporting tools
  • Strong knowledge of quality control standards, construction regulations, and industry best practices
  • Working knowledge of occupational health and safety standards and site compliance requirements
  • Strong leadership, coordination, and stakeholder management skills
  • Excellent problem-solving and decision-making ability in fast-paced site environments
  • Strong communication and report-writing skills
  • High level of accountability, professionalism, and attention to detail
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and engineering/project management software
  • Membership or registration with COREN, NSE, or relevant professional body is an added advantage
