Job Summary
The Site Store Officer is responsible for managing the receipt, storage, issuance, and inventory control of all materials, tools, and equipment on construction sites. This role ensures proper documentation of stock movements, maintains optimal storage conditions, prevents wastage and theft, and supports project efficiency through timely and accurate material management.
Job Details
- Manage inventory receipts, issuance, levels, documentation and reporting
- Organize and maintain the site store in a clean, orderly, and accessible manner
- Implement proper storage methods to prevent damage, deterioration, or loss
- Prepare and submit regular inventory reports to the Project Manager
- Ensure the security of the site store and prevent unauthorized access or theft
- Support cost control efforts through efficient material management
- Coordinate with site supervisors and workers on material needs and availability
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree (B.Sc./B.Eng.) or Higher National Diploma (HND) in Civil Engineering, Building Technology, Quantity Surveying, Architecture, or related field
- Minimum of 2-3 years experience in store management, inventory control, or materials management
- Experience in construction site stores or similar industrial environments (preferred)
- Practical experience with inventory management systems and documentation
- Understanding of inventory management principles and best practices
- Familiarity with construction materials, tools, and equipment
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy in record-keeping
- Excellent organizational and time management abilities
- Clear and effective oral and written communication
- Ability to prepare accurate, concise reports
- Effective liaison with suppliers, site workers, and management
